近年来，安吉全面推进“生态立县、工业强县、开放兴县”战略，凝心聚力，攻坚克难，工业经济扩容提质，现代农业强基增效，现代服务业提速发展，县域综合实力大幅提升。2011年全县实现地区生产总值221亿元，五年翻一番，年均增长12.7%；财政总收入和地方财政收入分别达到29.1亿元和16.7亿元，总量五年超两倍，年均增长27%以上，增幅连续四年居全省前列、全市第一；固定资产投资累计完成376.5亿元，是前五年的2.7倍；社会消费品零售总额达到81.5亿元，年均增幅17%以上；城镇居民人均可支配收入和农民人均纯收入分别达到2.8万元和1.4万元，五年分别净增1.2万元和0.6万元，农民人均纯收入增幅连续四年高于全省平均水平。未来五年，力争财政总收入三年超过50亿元、五年增加50亿元，综合实力力争跨入全省第一方阵，结构调整取得积极进展，第三产业增加值、高新技术产业产值明显上升，现代产业体系基本形成，转型升级成效明显。
